=>She Too Had A Close Call Read Here<=
Recently, I took my grand daughter grocery shopping alone to our local grocery store. When I entered the store, there were 3 very large men leaving the store empty-handed. I only noticed them when they stopped in the doorway as my grandbaby and I walked in and they specifically stopped and watched only us.
My grandbaby is a beautiful little blonde with long curly hair and great big blue eyes.
As we made our way through the store, low and behold, these 3 large men who were "leaving" the store, just happened to show up in every isle, one on each end, and one would walk to the center of the isle and pretend to be reading the labels on cans, as all three kept an eye on me and my grandbaby.
I had my cell phone in my pocket on one side and my tazor in the other, turned on, ready for battle had they approached. God is ever-present with me, and He really does lead them gently that are with their young. As busy as my lil' one and I were with our task at hand, He faithfully made me aware of the behavior of the 3 stooges following us.
Every where we went, these 3 amigos continued to follow us. I stopped and looked right into my lil' one's eyes and said to her, "You must listen to gramma very carefully. Do not leave my side even an inch, do you understand me?" I was firm and direct which she has come to understand as a warning.
To give you a bit of background on her, this little one has been known to dart off across parking lots, into the streets at will when she did not get her way. Until we took it to task and directly trained her to stop. If a child has no consequences for their rebellious actions, it can cost them their lives. Children MUST be made aware of their responsibility to obey their parents. In this case, grand parent. Thank God for His leading prior to this moment. It saved her life, literally.
As we continued through this store, these 3 men moved with us in a tripod fashion. My lil' one stayed faithfully by my side. We got to the register and I made direct eye contact with the one who stood to block my way at the end of the U-scan. I stared at him and refused to break eye-contact, he averted my stare and left his post. He disappeared in the produce section, then reappeared talking to the other 2 who I caught a glimpse of talking with him just as they looked directly at me.
I bent down to my lil' one and told her, "You listen to grammy very carefully. We are going to run to the car and you get in immediately and buckle in." She agreed. I watched for the 3 men and saw them turn around and head our way, however, they were far enough from us, we had time to make it else I would have stayed put and called 911.
Usually, I park my car way out in the parking lot to get as much walking in as possible and to save the spots for young mothers who need the closer spots more than I do. However, that day, I had decided to go against everything I normally do, I had parked right near the doors. Thank God, yet again, for His leading without me even realizing it was Him who had moved upon my heart to do so.
We ran out of the store, I popped my baby into the car, locked the door, ran around to the driver's side and as I closed my door, out came the 3 amigos, empty-handed, looking straight at us. At that point, they separated. I locked the doors, drove over to the security guard and informed him of what just happened, and then drove way as quickly as possible while they were detained by him. I drove away very quickly did not go home. Had I called 911, the police would have no basis for detaining them and would have asked had they done anything? By the time the whole answer the question and wait for the officer thing had unfolded, it would have kept us in the vicinity longer, and made us more of a target. I did not go home, or anywhere near my own neighborhood to be certain I was not followed.
A few things here:
1. The Lord goes before His people and He truly prepares their path.
2. He who keeps Israel, NEVER slumbers nor sleeps. His banner over His people is love. He truly guides us with His eye and puts it into our
hearts to KNOW His voice in all situations.
3. By the grace of God, obedience in the heart of that lil' one, kept her safe in the harbor and out of the reach of those who meant her
harm.
4. God says He will provide lives for us, and that security guard was standing in the right place, at precisely the right time.
Now, I shop at that store frequently and have for 25 years now, and will continue to shop there. I had never seen those men there, nor have I since. The point here is not so shallow as to insight fear. We obviously have to function and live our lives from day to day and should.
If you are shopping, and you see the same person several times in the store who has an obvious misplaced interest in you or your lil' ones, and they continue to have nothing whatsoever in their cart or hands; if they are continually and suddenly interested in reading the labels on the products and are repeatedly in most of the isles with you; if you feel in your soul that they are following you, they ARE. There is a reason that God gives us senses. Pay attention to that. Call 911 or somehow alert someone that you need help.
The purpose for this article is not to give you instructions to avoid a child trafficker etc, rather, to bring into perspective another focus at the heart of the issue; that being, tending to the behavior of our little lambs in this day. Children must be taught their responsibility to obey and to respect the law of proper behavior.
I see women in the stores with children, and those children are running rough shod, isles down from their parents with little to no correction whatsoever. Around the corner and 3 isles down is a mother, strung out, rolling her eyes, and caving in to the pressure of the child's behavior. That is not the time to give in or give up. Focus and commitment, direction and purpose. Train that child.
Just so happens, I have raised 10 children, and I have zero tolerance for rebellion and I tend to be very strict. Strict does not equate to mean, it means, I respect my rules and expect the child to do the same. If not, I will stop and enforce my own rules. A stickler for teaching children to respect the laws of behavior. Self-government in the child is key, in the family society, and in the larger society as a whole. In this case, my lil' one respecting that law and keeping herself to the rule of self-government, saved her life. All factors worked together for our good.
The self-serving, entitlement agenda being pushed on our children today, will set them up for failure and consequences. Had we not taken this child to task and brought her into submission prior to that moment, I shutter to think how differently that day may have ended.
Let us take this generation back, one-heart at a time and teach these things to our children BEFORE we get to the grocery store or into any other arena out there. These things are necessary for their very well-being now and throughout their lifetime.
