When I was a small child,
when we were at home, in our rooms alone,
we had no communication with the outside world.
Do you realize that we are the first generation
to suffer the intrusions of the outside world, right under our noses?
Our children have cell phones, I-pods, computers, and Xboxes.
Instant access to the outside world, from the bosom of the home;
Only God knows who they are reaching out too...
and who is reaching in.
God's word commands us not to embitter our children, as well as,
it also tells us that folly is bound in the heart of the child. It is from
that folly, a child views their world and makes decisions.
As we interact with our child, let us not offend these lil' ones.
Approach them with the utmost respect and integrity. What does
it matter how we treat "outsiders" if we offend our child?
Conflict and offenses WILL come between us and our children, however,
how we conduct ourselves through that conflict will impact our child
for a lifetime.
Remember, we are FOR them, not against them. We are against the actions,
thoughts or deeds which will harm them, WE ARE NOT AGAINST OUR CHILDREN.
If you are not listening to your child
there are plenty of 'strangers' out there who will...
Let us go forward keeping these thoughts in perspective.
Lord grant us wisdom and grace this day as we journey with our wee ones.
