Recently, I called an old friend to wish them a
Merry Christmas.  When the son answered, I happily
chimed a Merry Christmas greeting.

The child sadly said, "Merry Christmas."
I asked whom I was speaking too and
he stated his name with a robotic tone.

I asked him if he was having a good Christmas,
and with a very sad countenance he stated, ya.
This child had been reduced to bare answers
and the joy of Christmas escaped this wee one.

Momma truly is the heart of any home.
God has equipped her to nurture the heart and
to care for the soul with connected sensitivity.

May I encourage you today, to shine upon
your children today.  Chime into their presence
with love ringing in your voice as you mention their names.

Invite them to look up into your eyes.  When your
eyes meet, let them find adoration shining back at them.

May the God of all grace anoint you today to love
each of your children as no one else can!  Cheer their weary souls.
